What we check before we quote an Annapolis driveway
Annapolis has no shortage of paving companies, and plenty of them will quote you an overlay from the kerb without getting out of the truck. Close to the water, that is how a driveway comes to fail twice. Salt air and a high water table soften the stone base underneath, and fresh asphalt laid over a base that is already moving will crack along the same lines inside two winters.
So before we price anything in Annapolis, we look at what is under the surface. Sometimes the honest answer is that an overlay is fine, and we will tell you so. Sometimes it means a full tear out and a rebuilt base, which costs more up front and then lasts decades instead of years. You get the reasoning either way, not just a number.
